Maria Oliveira was already booked to face Diana “Warrior Princess” Belbita on UFC 289 when she got a call from Brazil’s famous television network, Record, to participate in an upcoming reality television show, A Fazenda.

The MMA fighter didn’t cancel the bout as she knew the show would have two stages. The UFC fighter stated that being on a reality TV series was a dream come true for her.

Though it didn’t go well as she expected, she doesn’t regret it. Oliveira admitted, “I kind of shot myself in the foot because it gave me less time to train.”

She disclosed that she usually undertakes a two-month camp before the fight. But for her fight with Diana, she only returned to the gym on 24 May returned. Regardless, the UFC official said she is happy.

“Even though it was a crazy decision, I don’t regret it because I learned from it,” Maria added.
